| For the past few years, I have had my children registered with the scouts, and have actively participated in the group. This program has been very helpful in ensuring my children receive social interaction with children their age. I also enjoy the aspect that the scouts tend to be very family oriented, so it is something we can all do together. Has any one else here has involved their family with the scouts? Are there any other social programs that might be a good idea for home schooled children to be involved with? |

We've been quite active in Civil Air Patrol over the years:

You get to learn useful things such as search and rescue, communications (as in radio, Morse code, etc.), CPR, etc. When there's someone missing locally or a disaster, you can get called in to help search or manage communications. It's also a good route if you intend to sign up for the military later. _________________ The Farming Game - Software Edition for Mac and PC
The board game has sold over 350,000 copies worldwide, garnered many awards, is used by over 2,000 schools, and is used extensively by homeschoolers. |
