UPDATE:
the 10th grade SOS is sold.
SOS 8th grade is still availale however.

Could you tell me how this program works? Does it explain everything very clearly or does the student have to figure it out?

It is VERY simple to use but they also have an online tech support, and there is a tutorial built into the program at all. My 3rd grader used it last year for Bible and LOVED it! You can also highlight or it speaks the text outloud for those who like the auditory!
There is a lot you can do with this, including grading, keeps transcripts....lots of great videos for kids to watch on specific lessons, fun games to play to learn the lesson, etc...
I highly recommend it!
