Ive tried! I have tried to wing it and do my own unit studies for 1st grade science - but it is just not working out! Some were real fun, but others were a complete mess. And soooo time consuming to create and do. Great memories, but I am exhausted! We are going to finish out this year but I am going to take a new route for 2nd grade.
I like the unit study approach. Or Themed study approach as many call it. My boys like that style too.
Considering Gods creation was highly recommened to me. Does anyone have any experience with that? I am like most of us out there. I want something we can do at home in a timely fashion with out spending my entire paycheck on lab supplies. I dont live near a library, so somehting that doesnt rely totally on literature is needed too. Dont get me wrong. I LOVE literature - but I just cant affort to buy 30 books to suppliment an already expensive curriculum.
If anyone has any opinions, experiences or the like - oh, I would be so grateful!!
Thanks! |

| We are using R.E.A.L science Odyssey Space and Planets for first grade this year. I like it and so does my daughter. It is put out by Pandia Press and you can get it from Rainbow Resources. |
