Hello.

I am completely new to the forum! I am very intent on homeschooling my children. My husband's sister's were both set on homeschooling as well, but eventually caved in and decided to send their kids to charters and private schools...making me think that it is more difficult to homeschool than it seems.

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience relying mostly on outside tutors for their child's studies? Is this a feasible option? I'd like to hear some experiences about this...

Historically, upper-class families often did that. Smile But listen...if hsing were so difficult, there wouldn't be so many of us doing it. Smile

As far as employing, it depends on the laws in your state. Some states specify that homeschooling must be done by parents/guardians. In California, children must be enrolled in private schools (the option most hsers do) or having their dc tutored full-time by credentialed teachers. And really, if you're paying someone else to teach your dc, you're not really homeschooling. Your dc are being tutored. There's nothing wrong with it (see my comment above); it just isn't homeschooling.
