Hi everybody, our family is half german half brazilian and our children (12 and 16) grew up in portuguese and went to an american school in Brazil for two years until last year. Now we are in Germany where our kids go to the local school, but since german is not their native language thea are having a really hard time. And we might have to move again to some other country soon. In order to avoid constant changes and the stress in several different languages we are thinking of home schooling or distance schooling as a solution. A US high school degree is fine since they would like to study there.
Since we are not in the US, the typical first steps don't work for us.
Where do we start? |

| Our family moves around a lot as well. We use an online high school course that provides an excellent education and a transcript as well. Because it is provided by a private university it does cost a bit. You must officially register for the transcripts or you can simply enroll in courses you need. We use Brigham Young University and have not found the curricula to be religious, only academic. There are others as well. Good Luck!! |

I would think that it would be best to follow the guidelines/laws of the country that you consider your legal home country or base... _________________ Getting Started in Homeschooling is easy at www.YourHomeschoolCommunity.com |
