Hi,
My friend and I are constantly overly stressed by our normal schools. All of our friends who we've met through bands are homeschooled and tell us how better it would be. We're interested in learning a bit about it. They all teach themselves.. Which is good because my parents both work anywhere from 6:00 to 3:00 to 8:00 to 6:00. Both of our parents do.
We're just wanting some information, links, ect. We are both about to finish 9th grade. Our parents mostly want information about colleges and other things. Any information for us would be appreciated!

You can get all that information on the High School / College Prep forum. Short version is as follows:
- You contact the college board or your high school counselor to find out what coursework is required for high school graduation in your state.
- You contact your prospective college(s) to find out if they require additional prereqs.
- You download syllabuses for the coursework you still need to complete, and buy or borrow used copies of the appropriate books.
- You set up a schedule and work through the material.
- You keep a portfolio of work for each course, or take nationally standardized tests (AP, CLEP, DANTES) to prove competency.
The legal requirements for homeschooling in NC are covered in this thread:

A list of NC homeschool groups is here:
