I'm transitioning my homeschool into a more classical model. I really want a good writing curriculum, so that as they get older, they can do a lot of research papers and essays based on their readings.
I've looked into IEW's Teaching Writing Structure and Style (TWSS) and the Student Writing Intensive (SWI).
My question is, can I get by with JUST the SWI? The TWSS is so expensive, and I understand the SWI has the models explained. If I watch the DVDs with my kids, will I be able to teach and evaluate their writing, or will I be missing a lot of important evaluation techniques without going through the TWSS curriculum myself, first?
It's a lot of money, but, if it's worth it, I will spend it! |

Yes absolutely! The Student Writing Intensive can be spread out over several weeks and if I remember correctly, they offer even more lessons plans online.
Watch it with your kids and you will be able to teach them.Feel free to PM me if you need more help-I'd be happy to walk you through it. We have had amazing success with this program!

| I don't know if it is useful to ask the question here because this is an old post but still want to put my query here. Does intensive reading program really helps children in writing essay and term papers. As you said above its useful. Can you tell me in what way it is? |

writing is not easy as it seems..i think reading habit is more influencing the writing also....how much we can read that much we can write....  |
