I need help to convince my husband that we should try homeschooling are children. His reasons are valid, but I would really like to try it out. He said he wouldn't mind homeschooling, but that we aren't responsible enough. He thinks that I would lose my mind with my kids at home 24/7. I don't feel that way. Yes, I do like the fact that when they go to school I get some time alone, but I really want to try this out for at least a year. The only thing i'm worried about is that if it doesn't work out than they will be too far behind. I don't want to try it and this happen to them. Can anyone help me to figure out how to convince him? He doesn't even want to discuss it with me anymore.

When you homeschool, you alone are responsible for your child's education, so you will have to work hard to make sure they are learning what they need to know. I doubt your husband would be doing the teaching; I assume it would be you. If you have such a strong desire to homeschool them, I believe you would also desire to do a good job teaching them.

If you are pulling them out of a public school and you homeschool them for one year..........then you want to put them back, I seriously doubt they will be behind. They will probably be ahead.

As far as convincing your husband, you can do some research and put all the facts together. Then you could present it to him and see what he says. Here are a few links that might be helpful:
