I taught my daughters from an early age about modesty. They've also been to church camps that have reinforced it. So they are anti-immodest clothing. They stick their tongues out at Victoria's Secret whenever we walk by it in the mall. LOL. I guess that I have been blessed. The only fight we have about clothing is going shopping for it. They HATE shopping for clothes because they don't like trying stuff on. We avoid the teen section entirely because everything there is too tight, too low, or too something. We went from kids straight to adult clothing. I really hope that clothing designers change the way they dress kids soon. Modest is cool too!

There is also a book for young ladies titled Every Young Woman's Battle by Shannon Ethridge and Stephen Arterburn
These books talk about all the issues our teen girls and boys have and even how tempting the way either boys or girls dress can cause problems in how they are treated by others.
I also am beginning to find it hard to shop with my pre-teen daugher, issues too here too tight, to much skin showing, too short, and etc. that make it so immodest for any girl or woman to wear.
We also have a thing in our home, If mom buys it you will wear it and mom won't buy just anything and any money spent by the teen will require permission before purchase.
so far my kids have not bought anything that is on the list of immodest.
My son does buy skinny fit pants but only because he is very tall and thin and regular fit jeans just don't stay up would be way too big for him. the skinny fit loose on him. skinny fit was never meant have have a "glued" look. |
