|
|
| Can Abeka phonics be both thorough and enjoyable? I don't want to compromise on the phonics issue, but I also want reading to be a joy for my squirmy son. I've heard that the readers are a great substitute for McGuffy readers, but I've also heard several complaints that the readers are "boring." My son has not been raised on video games and t.v., so I don't know that he needs high adventure. Is there any humor in the stories? He enjoys almost anything I read to him. |

If you go to the link below and enter your zip code, it will show you live meetings in your area. You could go to one of the Materials Displays. That way you could actually get your hands on the readers and see them for yourself -- to see if you think your son would enjoy them. The Materials Displays are usually in hotels and it is free to attend. You don't have to buy anything; you can just look at the curriculum if you like.
