Hi,

I've been a fan of homeschooling for most of 25 years when I first found that it was an option. In the course of time, a dear friend of mine had sent me some of Mary Pride's homeschooling newsletters, which at the time was on newsprint, if I am remembering well. My only regret is that I had to return them. She's still homeschooling and I'm back to it these last six years.

I've toyed with joining this forum for 3 years and am only just now signing up - for real anyway. I had had a password written in my password book and I could not get it to work! Oh well, I'm here now and I'm finally figuring the differences between blogs, forums and websites and how to navigate them.

We live on 2.5 acres with a dog and chickens, but we're between batches on both this winter. Daddy's promised two puppies and twelve chicks after our trip in the summer. We've got a lot to look forward to on both accounts! We newly have a Blue Dutch rabbit, too.

We have eight children. Two graduated from high school and continued the home learning model to become graphics artists and other things computer related. They have at least two siblings excited to do the same.

Over the years, we've tried several homeschool curriculums, a few years in a private school and back home again. I've got favorite books and methods and am looking for more. Different children really do respond to different materials and methods - or maybe the latest one just looks more interesting? I am gaining some bits of wisdom as I go!

Anyway, I'm glad to have finally made the time to figure how to get this far. Now to find more time! Any ideas? LOL!

It looks like it is going to be very easy to navigate. I just don't have a lot of experience with forums and might press the wrong button! I'm learning, though and I want to learn. Please forgive my first starts if I look silly. I'm trying Facebook these last few months, too and have only just now gotten a bit more familiar with the format. I LOVE that this note came to my email. That is half the battle for me - remembering where I've been!
