Howdy. I was fortunate enough to home school my son for a few years until my work required I travel. I am now assisting him and his wife as they set up their own home school. I have worked in information security for 25 years and have given free tips to parents on how to make the use of computers and the Internet a safe and rewarding experience. If I see questions I can answer, I will do so.

Howdy! If you're in IT, maybe you can answer a question I've been wondering about for a while - what good, free alternatives to Norton are there, if any? I'm a bit tired of paying the Windows tax on my PC.

Hey, Theodore, I use the shareware version of AVG. However, don't depend on anti virus software alone. You should also watch for spybots by using a spybot search and destroy. Just goolge "spybot search and destroy" and you will find a free version of that. You should also find a malware software app. Antivirus software does not do a complete job.
