Hi All, again,
Well, I typed so much and said nothing about Home school here. We have been blessed with a broad freedom here in Tennessee, until this past year.
Several bills were attempted that would have required testing on curriculum decided on by the State. That would have hurt many of us in the pocket book, because many veteran Homeschoolers rely on reuse of what they have already purchased and newbie’s/vets alike often try to stretch their budgets by buying/selling used resources.
In addition, these changes would have caused religious compromise for many in our communities.
The most damaging (IMO) Home school issue during this year's General Assembly was the rejection to move a piece of legislation that would reestablish our Home School High School Dimplomas as legitimate documents.
An activist employed through our State BOE made comments that our diplomas our not worth the paper they are written on. These statements caused previous home school graduates, many with higher degrees, to lose their jobs at agencies that require valid hs diplomas.
Long I know, but if it can happen here, it can happen anywhere.
Blessings,
Michelle _________________ The task before us is not as great as the force behind us. ~ Adrian Rogers (our family's favorite Pastor)

Welcome Michelle. You must be from Memphis if Adrian Rogers was a favorite pastor.
Good luck with all your family is trying to accomplish. That is quite a load. |
