Hello all,
I'm Jeannie and I have started preparing for home schooling my two boys, Kane and Lucas for the coming year. Kane is going to be 5 in July and Lucas or Luke for short is going to be 3 in 9 days. I'm a 23 year old stay at home mom and feel very privliged to be able to be here. Don't get me wrong, my husband, Jerry, doesn't make a huge income, not even near the national average. We make do with what we have though and by the grace of God we feel blessed to have what we have. I, like many others, hated going to school. And not because I was challenged in class. In Kindergarden my teacher felt that I was working on a 3rd grade level, but the school wouldn't move me forward. Since it wasn't a challenge I got lazy but I still made good grades. I think if it wasn't for the bullying and if I had been able to have more challenging work on my level I could have done SO much more and that is what I want for my kids. Plus, both of my kids have some special needs of their own that I don't feel the public school could handle the way that I can. In short... I know I can do better. What parent on this forum couldn't right? Afterall, who knows their own kids better than us parents? I look forward to getting to know every one and I'm glad to be on this forum! |
