My husband and I pastor a small church in Northern California. We adopted our granddaughter when she was four, but have always had her. She has never gone to public school. I know there are other things she might have learned had she gone to PS, but there are so many other things, important things she has learned because of being home schooled. She works at our business for four hours a week. I don't know any other girls at thirteen that can tear apart a diesel starter and put it back together.

Your diesel-starter granddaughter sounds like our oldest--she's happiest with her legs sticking out from under the car, and wants to go into computer repair like her dad.
We homeschool our three daughters who are currently in grade 9, grade 3, and JK. The regulations where we live are pretty relaxed, so we're free to customize what we do to their special needs and interests...including auto repair. |
