We are finishing-up 2nd grade and next year about this time we need to be ready for a Standards Based Assessments test (3-10), required by Alaska state law... Are these tests the same for all states that require them..?
Are there sub-forums for the tests if they are the same..?
I'm sure teachers know what is going to be on each test. As a parent are these tests just, "Sink or Swim"..? |

Under Alaska's homeschool law, standardized testing isn't required (unless the homeschool is "operating as a religious or other private school," and then only in grades 4, 6, and 8. Or are you enrolled in a program offered by the State?
States which require homeschooled children to be tested usually allow parents to choose any standardized test, not usually referred to as "standards based test," so I'm not sure if you mean something that is specific to Alaska or not. Some states, such as Texas, have developed their own tests, but homeschoolers are not usually required to participate in those, unless the students are enrolled in a state-funded charter or virtual school.
