In accordance with the newest Census reports, within the next ten years the minority in the United States will likely be those who are “non-Hispanic white". Scholarships for this brand new minority are already being offered. The Former Majority Association for Equality gathered together a nonprofit status past year to address this need. Candidates who have a 3.0 GPA and are at least one-quarter White can apply for the scholarship. Resource for this article - Texas white men scholarship offers $500 to Caucasian students by MoneyBlogNewz.
The Former Majority Association for Equality origins
The Former Majority Association was started by TX State University student Colby Bohannon. After serving in Iraq, Bohannon decided to go to school. He needed just a little bit of extra money to do this. He started the association because he noticed most scholarships were offered to any person that wasn’t Caucasian or was a woman.
Needs f or the $500 TX scholarship for white men
There's a small scholarship that FMAE offers. It is given to everyone that has at least 25 percent non-Hispanic in them and has a GPA of at least 3.0. The FMAE states it "has no political aspirations, financial agenda or radical social philosophies whatsoever." All the group wants to do is get more white men scholarships. Schools accept the $500 white men scholarship easily. It's just like any other.
The United States changing
There have been other “white men scholarships” offered in the past. The reason of the FMAE scholarship is to recognize the belief that the majority in the United States is not the white man anymore. About 48.6 percent of United States births are non-white while women are about 55 percent of the population, the recent Census stated. Some say that these changing statistics mean that scholarships based on race or gender should be eliminated entirely; others argue the factors should be adjusted to match current statistics.
