BJU Spelling, is it easy?

Postby milehimom » Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:58 am

I'm new to this and I'm ordering BJU Spelling, Math and English for my kids next year. I haven't held an actual book in my hand, just looked at the BJUPress website and 'looked inside' their books. Is it just me, or does the 2nd grade spelling book seem a bit too easy for the average slightly above average 2nd grader? Did anyone have to bump their child up a level in Spelling to make it fit? I know some curriculums run easy, or run hard. Any input? I have three grades to buy for 2nd, 4th, and 5th.

Thanks,
milehimom

I love, love, love BJU's spelling. Easy/Hard? That really depends on your kid and the state standards/averages that you compare it to. Mine do very well on it. If you have any Half Price Book locations in your area, they carry a lot of used BJU curriculum at very inexpensive costs. You could take a peek at what they have before making a final decision as to whether BJU is best for your needs. Good luck.
