Hello everyone!
I'm Maryann from VA. We have been homeschooling for 18+ years. We have 11 children. 3 have already graduated from homeschooling, and we have 4 beautiful grandchildren. We are currently homeschooling 3 of our children fulltime (16/g, 7/g, and 5/b). Five of our adopted special needs children are in a public school program part time in order to recieve the services they need on a daily basis.
Up until very recently we were homeschooling all of them, but due to some major changes in our household it became impossible for me to transport the children 5 days per week for their therapies and appointments (it was a 2 hr. trip not counting the time at the appointments). DH became disabled in June, and has retired. With his added medical appointments and illness, I just couldn't spread myself that thin! Anyway... I'm not happy with the current school situation, but until we come up with a better plan this is it! Hopefully, they will all be back home fulltime soon.
I'm glad I stopped by to see all the changes on the website. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you. I miss the old PHS days on AOL!!! (about a decade or so ago!). I guess that means I'm getting old!
Blessings,
Maryann |
