Has anyone bought or used Geometer's Sketchpad? (Here's a link: http://www.keypress.com/x5521.xml) I've a 7th grader who loves working with shapes and math and it looked like this might be a good addition for him. Still, I'd like a little first hand feedback first if possible before buying it. Thanks!
Btw, I first found a reference to it from the online school associated with AOL (I think it's AMDG?...here's a link for that, too: http://amdg.ws/HS/INDEX.ASP) They recommended it as an unmandatory extra for their geometry course. |

I recommend Geometer's Sketchpad without reservation, esp. if you've already got a computer. It's a great tool.

I did buy the program, thanks for the recommendation! It was a bit funny when I got it. I installed it after my son was pretty much done with his work for the day and told him to start with the first "Tour" just to get a feel for it. 4 hours later... Anyway, he really likes it and I have to keep him from spending too much time on it (especially before he's done with his regular work.) |
