That's a rather open ended question. What sort of book are you looking for? History of homeschooling, how to start homeschooling, learning styles / homeschool methods, curriculum resource guides?

Well in that case, you'll love this page, and I should put in a shameless plug for Mary Pride's Complete Guide to Getting Started in Homeschooling as well. Smile

OOOoooooo!! My favorite topic - BOOKS!!!

1. The Unschooling Handbook - I am not actually an unschooler, but this book was great

2. Anything by Ruth Beechik - I have her 3 R's and I think she has a brand new book out

3. Homeschooling for Dummies - You know the yellow and black cover books

4. Honey for a Child's Heart - gives great suggestions for books to read to your kids

I hope this gives you a place to start. There are so many good books out there, I can't wait to see some of the other suggestions. I am practically drooling with anticipation.

Blessings, Robin

I just finished "creative correction" It had some great ideas that my boys actually like. We now have a corection jar for those times when your not quite sure what discipline to choose. They helped fill it with ideas for when they do something wrong, like no bike for a day, or 10 jumping jacks, and we even put in a mercy card that shows that even when we deserve punishment we can still show eachother mercy. It is just one of the really cool ideas in this book.

I am currently reading "The Everything Homeschooling Book" by Sherri Linsenbach and am finding it VERY enlightening! Again, however, I am just starting at this stuff! Wink

I am also new at this and I have been reading The Ultimate Guide To Homeschooling by Debra Bell. It's inspiring and well organized. Within it are alot of other HS book recommendations too.

I'm currently reading 'Homeschooling - Take a Deep Breath-You can Do This!' by Terrie Lynn Bittner.

It's a wonderful book packed with encouragement and advice for both the beginning homeschooler and the veteran alike.
