Almost anything by Jean Fritz! She's written lots and all are accurate and easy for kids to follow. Usually they have humor in them too! _________________ milehimom

I highly recommend "Southern by the Grace of God" if you're studying the Civil War. Regular textbooks generally ignore the South, and focus entirely on the Northern point of view - perhaps not surprising, given that the winner usually ends up writing the history. _________________ The Farming Game - Software Edition for Mac and PC
