Handing out tracts

Postby Country-at-Heart » Sun Apr 05, 2009 4:34 pm

Has anyone tried this before?
We did it yesterday and it went well! It's a very good thing to do.

Not the most easy thing to do, but it feels good afterwards.

I think this is the wrong forum, btw. Religious forum. :)

I'll transfer the thread to the area on religion. In reply to Country-at-Heart - I don't personally think that handing out tracts is necessarily going to achieve much in the way of conversions. There's only so much you can do with a few cartoons and lines of text. Street preaching or just talking with people one-on-one is going to be far more effective. Short of that, handing out books on common subjects such as dating / marriage from a Christian perspective. Books are more expensive than tracts, but they also show more commitment and people are a lot more likely to read them rather than just throw them in the nearest trash bin.

On a positive note, you're trying at least, and people have been converted after reading a tract, it's just extremely unlikely. My advice is to find a good book, contact the publisher and see if you can get a few hundred for cheap.
