WE'RE JUST STARTING....MY KIDS ARE 8,5 & 2.......WHAT ARE THERE "MUST HAVES" BESIDES CURRICULUM & A PENCIL?

Every family is different. Our must haves are these:
bookcases
cubby or closet system
It's nice to also have a drawing desk (adjustable top for all projects), but we've done without.
Aside from furniture we rely on
-camera (to record our year)
-backpacks/lunchboxes (for field trips)
-trays (to keep pieces, maps, and charts accessible)

I believe that a computer, internet access and a printer are must haves.
I also like to have a children's dictionary.
I think it's important to have an American flag. Even though you don't have to do it every single day, I believe it's important to teach your children to pledge the flag, sing the national anthem and other patriotic songs.

I built a small table when we first started. Now that the kids are getting older, they just use the dining room table.
