Hello everyone,
I am so excited to join such a wonderfully diverse group! I have two boys, 4 and 6, and another due in August. My 6 year old just completed a year of public kindergarten, and it was a great experience, but I want more! It nearly broke my heart that his teacher saw more of him during the week than I did. He loved the class and I am hoping to use this summer as a trial period to determine if we can learn together. I am trying to make this experience so much fun so that HE chooses to stay home in the fall. I know it won't always be fun and games, but I'm hoping to ease into the more tedious stuff. My 4 year old is very bright and unable, because of his January birthday, to start Kinder in the fall, so he has asked that I do the honors at home. Of course, I am all too happy to oblige! Hopefully, this will be only the first in a number of years we home school together.
My husband's work takes us all over the world, currently we are here in Spain, but who knows where next year will take us?! It is exciting and I think that schooling my boys at home would be a perfect fit for us... That is if I can get over being overwhelmed and just start. I have been researching for the better part of a year and have read everything I can get my hands on.
Thanks in advance for all the advice and experience that I am sure to learn from all of you. I am already grateful for this opportunity!
May you have a great day, everyday!

Hello Heidi,
Welcome to the wonderful world of home schooling! It is exciting and can be a little scary and overwhelming at times. My girls and I will soon be starting our 7th year of home schooling. I would think that for someone who moves around as you do it would be the perfect solution. Your boys will not have to deal with new starting over at new schools all the time. My advice to you would be to take field trips, do nature studies, and read, read, read. Your boys will be learning and having fun too, and so will you! Good luck! _________________ Linda
