How to "package" transcript to send to colleges?

Postby Sparrow » Tue Sep 29, 2009 10:32 am

I'm getting ready to send off college applications, along with the cover letter, transcript, extracurricular activities sheet, etc. How do I "package" this? Does anyone know how high schools do this? I'd like it to look as professional as possible. Should I put it all in one of those folders with a clear front?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Unless delivering in person, I wouldn't worry about this too much. It's probably more important to make sure the contents are professional-looking than the wrapping. You could theoretically FedEx it to make it look like you care more than everyone else :)

I'm an admissions counselor for a private liberal arts college, and in my experience, transcripts are usually just stuffed in an envelope and mailed off. Generally the receptionist receives the mail, stamps and files it, so the packaging is really not that important. What's inside the package is what counts. Make sure the transcripts/portfolio look professional and you should be OK!
