I co-ordinate a Christian Co-op of about 12 families. I want to discuss "best practices,' how to bridge the elementary/jr high age mismatch, how to retain the helpful volunteers, how to inspire these independant people to pull together when things are inconvenient. Our odd problem is that when begin to grow, and we become ambitious about projects we could undertake with our expanded resources, we fragment. Over the past 3 years, we've rounded and whittled like the moon.
But a fun subject is curricula - has anyone else had fun with Bernie Zubrowski's books? We put on a play at a nursing home last week, many of the residents told me they could hear just fine, so our kids were projecting!
What web resouces have you found for comparing notes on co-oping? I like Debra Bell's cite, and Home Education Magazine has some helpful arcticles also.
Thanks,
Christine |
