Dorothy Moore Has Passed Away (February 28, 2002)

Dorothy Moore, wife of Raymond Moore, died on February 22 at the age of 89, after suffering a stroke and continuing in a coma for five days.

As veteran homeschoolers know, Dorothy Moore devoted her life to the education of children, first as a teacher and then the past 25 years as an educator and supporter of homeschoolers. With her husband, Dr. Raymond Moore, a pioneer of what has been called the "better late than early" method of home education and one of the first public advocates of homeschooling, she authored numerous books on homeschooling, spoke at many homeschool conferences.

According to an email we received from Chris Klicka, Dr. Moore's office says that those that desire to send sympathy cards or notes to him can write to him at the Moore Foundation, Box 1, Camus, WA. 98607, or email him at moorefnd@pacifier.com.

Let us give thanks to God for Dorothy's work and long life, and convey our support to those who worked and lived with her for so many years.
