I think it may be required in some places.

It's not a requirement in my state, but we named ours anyway. My kids liked the idea of having an identity. Some people make a logo and put it on tee shirts for family outings and large homeschool gatherings.

Some states do require it.

It's easy to give a noncommittal answer to folks who ask what school your dc attend, if you don't want to say you're hsing (it happens sometimes).

A school name looks better on a transcript than "Homeschool."

Ok, I don't think it's required in our state (NY). But I think I may name it anyways cause it sounds fun and I think the kids would like it too.

Thanks!

It's required here in Kansas. (And a name is about all that is required.)

We spent a long time thinking about our name and eventually settled on Arda Academy. ("Arda" means "the world" in J.R.R Tolkien's stories.) Tells a little bit about our homeschooling philosophy and our idea of good books all in one.

Give yourselves a name, have fun with it.

We're thinking about The Narrow Gate Academy based on Matthew 7:14.
The main reason for our home schooling decision is for an education based on sound Bible doctrine.
