I also like the Language Smarts book. Very colorful and engaging and easy to use.
Another excellent textbook approach is published by BJU Press. You can purchase just the textbooks and teacher's guides or go all out and get the DVD program. The DVDs are professionally recorded in a studio and include all kinds of props, puppets, characters, etc. for this young age group. Lots of fun and excellent academics!

For a very writing focused program, check out Write Source http://curriculumexpress.com/write-source/. This includes a grammar workbook and grammar instruction in the text but makes writing the focus.
