I didn't know there was an Olive Garden in Greenville and my sister lives there. I really don't even go to Greenville that much and we only go to the coast maybe every other year. This year we are taking a field trip to Fort Macon and the beach. Two hours is about what it takes us to get to the beach maybe a little less depending on where we go. I take 64 into Raleigh and use the new bypass. The homeschooling store is off the same exit as Crabtree Valley Mall. It is called the Homeschool Gathering Place and is a consignment shop so you can find some good deals and sell your old stuff too. They also have some new things but if you are looking for a particular book that is a good place to look. I love going and shopping there. Here is their web address:

I don't know what there is to do out where you are but if you are looking for something new you should check into some of the stuff in Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Wilson, and Raleigh areas.
I would love to know what there is out your way that might be a good field trip and if you ever want a list of things to do this way let me know.

My sister lives on the Crabtree exit-I never knew that was there! I can't wait until we go again. Fort Macon is a great trip, right near there in Beaufort is a small maritime museum that is wonderful (and free!). I just heard about a museum in Wilson-a science museum? Have you heard of it?

There are several museums in Wilson. The imagination station is there along with the baseball museum at Fletcher's Stadium and the Old Country Doctors Museum. We are planning a field trips to all three. I don't know if it is to far away for you guys but in Zebulon there is a baseball team, the Mudcats, they have a reading club that homeschools can join and the kids (any age) can earn free baseball tickets. There is no reading list so you can read what you feel is appropriate. Zebulon is about 45 mins west on 64 from Tarboro where I am. Here is their website.

Here are websites for Wilson:

http://www.wilsonnc.org/Departments/Par ... .asp?id=48 or http://mysite.verizon.net/charliesballp ... /ncbbm.htm
There is also waterfowl park in Scotland Neck that say they advertise they have birds from all the continents but I haven't been there yet. http://www.learnnc.org/discover/Halifax/sylvanhgts and www.shwpark.com
What is the name of the museum in Beaufort? I am always looking for new places to go especially free ones.
