Movies as Literature Course at H.E.P.- Houston, TX

Postby missash » Wed Jun 03, 2015 6:09 am

Home Education Partnership is now offering a course called Movies as Literature!

Movies as Literature is a fun elective or substitute to an English course. The course covers literary terminology and analysis through watching movies as opposed to reading books. Essay writing experience preferred, but will be taught as necessary. Movies will be watched in class and a list of movies watched in class will be given upon request.

This class is perfect for students who have a hard time understanding literary analysis as the curriculum goes very slowly through each literary term. Students who love movies or even enjoy literature will also enjoy this class.

To register, please visit our website at heptx.com or email me directly for more information on the class.

Do such courses still exist? I would gladly visit them! My opinion is that learning language through reading and watching movies is the most efficient way, it would be a good point to practice this method at school on regular basis.

Yes, they actually do! You can purchase the materials/curriculum for this course online by searching for "Movies as Literature by Kathryn and Richard Stout." It's a great course!
