First Grade

Postby Elizabeth86 » Fri Nov 11, 2016 3:59 am

I have a few subjects nailed down for next year for first grade, but I am struggling with language arts. What are your recommendations ? I've seen a few that used real literature and thought that sounded like a great idea, but I'm not locked into anything, just exploring my options. I'm just looking for something to keep him on grade level or above.

For me it very difficulties with language. I am not a native speaker so i faced lot of problems while speaking, reading and writing. Specially if you speak or write its very difficult with its grammar. I use grammar check while writing but when you speak its difficult.

I find a lot of terminology around Home Schooling to be very confusing but using these educational resources https://www.twinkl.co.ke/ have been a real lifeline as they break it down into more manageable chunks. If you are looking for great phonics resources, they also have lots available which have really helped to keep my children engaged too https://www.twinkl.co.ke/resources/literacy/literacy-phonics
