Just looking for a very simple, preferably side-by-side, description of the major homeschooling methods.

Have you looked at Waldorf homeschool? I found it worked great for my daughter. Here is a site with great resources and Waldorf lessons you might want to check out. https://www.simplywaldorf.com/
