I have a question. What books do you use for your children before you start homeschooling? Alphabet, sounds, and things like that. I use books like thesehttps://top-mom.com/best-books-for-toddlers/, my son liked the musical ones I heard they use them in school now too. Why I am asking, it's a problem that I want to teach my child from the very beginning.

Hey Amber, what a great question, my kids, I wish they loved reading but i'd go as far as to they tolerate it and I think that's the best I can hope for haha. I tell you what's been a lifesaver for me is that my wife took out this subscription to Twinkl https://www.twinkl.co.za/resources/twinkl-originals?age=eyfs. It's great, they have all the books available, I can get them right on my phone or the computer and they even come with fun games and activities to support the learning https://www.twinkl.co.za/resources/twinkl-originals/ks1-twinkl-originals-key-stage-1. Also the drawings are actually really good.

I can vouch for Twinkl, too. I'd second Dan and also say there are some really great phonics resources on there to go along with the stories Dan mentioned. Here's one I found that's free to download, if that helps https://www.twinkl.at/resource/t-l-1066-initial-sounds-worksheet. It's for initial sounds so perfect to start off with and start making those connections with sounds in the stories

Another freebie I found on there is the Reading Scheme for KS1, so when they're ready there are so many great phonics based books to try with some lovely stories.
