I’m using abeka for 1st grader. First time homeschooling. I was too cheap to buy all the curriculum stuff that I never expected to use. For language I bought-
Letters and sounds 1
Language 1
Cursive writing tablet, and
Spelling and Poetry.
Most everything is self-explanatory, but I have no idea how the Spelling and Poetry is meant to be used in conjunction with the others. The lesson numbers seem pretty random and I’m not sure when, how to implement the poetry section. Any help?
For the rest of the books I thought we would just work through the lessons and order and I don’t need expensive books to tell me that, but I’m a little confused about Spelling and Poetry 1.

If I understand correctly, all the lesson plans are in the "Homeschool Arts 1 Curriculum Lesson Plans." Yup, it's $50, but that's where the information you want is found.

Well, I'm not spending $50 on that.
I was hoping there might be someone helpful here who could write a sentence or two such as:
"Do one spelling lesson per week, 3 days, etc."
But I guess I came to the wrong place.

I guess you did.
It's not our fault that ABeka puts so much in its teacher curriculum instead of in the student text and then charges big bucks for it. Blame ABeka.
