I AM HAVING GREAT SUCCESS TEACHING MY 4 KIDS JUST USING THE PHONOGRAM CARDS. Here's how:
I work one-on-one with each child by 1. holding flash card and having them say all sounds of each letter or combination of letters(i.e. phonogram) on the card. 2. I dictate the sounds and have them write them on their wipe board and we correct as we go. 3. For spelling I dictate the sample words on the back of the card. When I taught the WRTR I did have the kids say the sound as they wrote it, etc. but the way I do it now is simpler. Sometimes I have them do this but they're learning cursive. Anyway, I usually spend 15-20 minutes a day with each of my kids-well, sometimes a lot less for my 2 add kids
