Hello! I was curious if anyone has experience teaching a child with Auditory Processing Disorder.

My daughter is 5 and eager to learn, but we're having some challenges. BTW, we are mostly looking for free or almost free resources.

Thank you very much for any input!

P.S. If there is already a thread about this, sorry. I just couldn't find one.

I don't know if this is helpful to you or not, but I am pretty sure that I have Auditory Processing Disorder (I'm also diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome), and I would suggest cutting out all background noise while teaching. It is impossible for me to think when there is background noise because I cannot filter it out. I would also recommend using visual aids whenever possible.

Thank you! Yes, she does seem overly sensitive to noise going on around her. It is difficult to get rid of ALL background noise since she has 2 younger siblings, but we try. As for visual aids, I have found flash cards and letter blocks to be very helpful so far.

Thanks for your ideas!
