Solid Rock Christian Home Educators

Mission Statement:
Encourage, support, and strengthen the local homeschooling
community by enhancing each family’s academic instruction through excellent enrichment programs taught from a Biblical worldview.

Vision: Our Home School Co-op endeavors to:
1. Give God all the Glory and Honor in all we do.

2. Come alongside each homeschooling parent as they accept the Biblical responsibility to “train up a child in the way he should go.” (Prov. 22:6)

3. Develop, within our children, a love and enthusiasm for learning about God’s world.

4. Equip our children to think clearly, concisely, and critically with character and reflecting our Lord, Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 8:1b)

5. Allow our children to experience being taught by teachers, other than their own parents, who have both a passion for their subject and the aptitude to teach from a Biblical worldview.

6.Provide Christian socialization and fellowship between peers, while offering accountability, healthy competition, teamwork, and challenging interpersonal relationships outside the home.

7.Provide emotional, spiritual, and academic support that will enable parents to educate their children at home with excellence and confidence.

Goals / What we offer:
1. Weekly home school enrichment electives to parents who are homeschooling in Bell, Knox, Laurel, McCreary and Whitley Counties, and surrounding areas, which will provide parents the latitude to supplement their own homeschool curriculum.

2. Each co-op meeting will begin with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, in hopes to maintain a Christian focus and perspective.

3. Support, prayer, and fellowship will be provided to our members at our monthly “TEA” meetings, held the first Saturday of each month.

4.Common experiences will be shared through monthly field trips, park days, participation in academic competition such as a science fair, and an end of the year program.
