So my son turned 4 on the 10th of April and is 13 lessons into the book (teaching your child to read in 100 lessons). He is doing really great.

But he is having issues when it comes to sounding out the full words. Example, the word See. Instead of saying "ssssseeeeeee". He sounds each letter out then he'll say "ssss (pause)eeee(pause)eeeee" When I ask him to say it fast he just says it faster......but still pausing between each letter.
I sound it out the correct way for him without pausing of course, then he'll read it back to me correctly. Is it normal for them to do this at first? Should I not show him the correct way to do it when he messes up? I'm just kind of afraid that he'll end up getting lazy and intentionally messing up so that I will do it for him.

Any advice would be great.

Mmm, my dd is 15 now, but it seems like she did that at first too. It just takes them a little getting used to and I think once he hits the stories it will get better.

Why dont you teach him the dbl e sound is "eeeee" and then have him practice a little every day reading words with that combo in it?

You can even make up more words that are phonetically correct but not real words, write him a short story that lets him practice the ee sound in context.
