| I have 2 dd's ages 8 and 12. I have tried BJU reading and just reading books from the library or ones that we own. My question is this... do they need a curriculum for reading? I know when we used BJU they learn some "reading" terms that I couldn't otherwise teach them. I know once they reach high school they will have to use a Literature curriculum but I don't want to cause them to have a harder time by not doing it right now. What does everyone else do for reading??? |

I don't think that a specific reading curriculum is needed at their ages. We read the classics for 'reading' and 'literature', even into the high school years. _________________ Laura L. Barth

We do not have a reading curriculum this year (2nd gr), as we've just been reading. I to him, he to me. But next year I am going to start using CLE Reading, mainly because I want to make sure he doesn't miss anything. _________________ It's ok if you don't know where you're going,
