Hello,
I have a 9th grader that I am homeschooling and now that she is in high school I am wondering how many hours is considered a semester's or years worth of a single subject.
I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you! |

| In NYS they use the term unit instead of a credit. A standard year long course (Math, English...) would be one unit where as a one semester course (health, an art class....) would count normally as a 1/2 a unit. Our district states that a unit is equal to 108 total hours of instuction, or 3 hrs a week for 36 weeks. 1/2 a unit means 54 hours. That should give you a general idea. |
