I was wondering how to figure out if my son is behind. I know that a lot of homeschoolers don't see it that way and go at whatever pace their child needs to, but I want to figure out what needs more attention. I think he is on par for a second grader... but how do i know if I don't know any other second graders?

Go to your state or local school district website. They should have standards for each grade. You can go through those standards to see if there is anything you need to address.
