Hey guys!

We just moved to here in Canada in May, and would LOVE to find really good books for my daughter, Grade 4, to learn all about Canada. I'd like something that includes basics on the government, as well as geography, the Prime Minister and how they're picked, etc.

I'd also love for it to include things like climate, etc.

Anyone have any good recommendations?

Thank you!!

Modern History Through Canadian Eyes by Heather Penner

This book will guide through a decent study of Canada. Books lists for research, historical fiction, geography, government and aboriginal studies, are provided in a succinct, chronological order.

We just moved from Canada! We were there for three years and loved it.

We did an in depth study of the geography (all of the Provinces, the capitals and what they were known for), visited historical sites, focused on Aboriginal peoples (we lived on Vancouver Island so this was extremely easy) and learned about famous Canadian historical figures such as Terry Fox and Emily Carr.

What part of Canuck-land are you in? Enjoy some Timmy's for us, we miss Canada very much!
