History is a Lab Science

Postby didomach » Thu Jul 14, 2016 11:13 am

Usually History study is limited to read a textbook, memorize for the test, and move on to the next class subject. But doing history is actually a lab science.

When you see Social Studies and History as an interactive class, you prepare your student for university history work, as well as for the workforce. See "10 Essential Elements for the Teaching of History" https://darlenenbocek.com/10teachinghistory These principles can help you teach your students to actually engage in the process of "doing history."

I am using several different materials with my 3 dd and 1 ds, such as a Youtube channel and Classical Historian for "doing history." Take a look. I hope it is a help to those out there trying to figure out what to do for history homeschool. The best thing about homeschooling is the freedom we have to do things right!
