|
|
My daughter who is finishing up 4th grade in a few weeks is having a terrible time with reading comprehension. We have been using Bob Jones Press for all of our subjects this year and she's falling to a D in reading. She's even watching the videos that go with her lessons. We aren't going with Bob Jones next year, pretty much because we can't afford complete Bob Jones for 3 children.
I'm going to be using the Elson Readers with the Teacher's Guide for her next fall so that we can take some of the pressure off and have time to read more novels for fun. My question is this...is there something I can use over the summer that is pretty inexpensive so that she can get some help with the comprehension side of things? Is there something that covers all of the necessary skills in a workbook format? She can read just fine, but has trouble understanding what she's reading and has trouble with story elements. |
