| Good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well this fine morning. Looks like I might get a little rain my area today but that is fne with me. Still got some tomatoes on the vine and they could use some of that rain. Anyway, I am the father of 6 and number 7 on the way. My 3 oldest are doing well in public school and the next oldest is doing ok but is only in preschool at the moment. The 3 year old is to me what every 3 year old should be, a big pain in the rear. Unfortunately his preschool teacher has different ideas as to how a 3 year old should act. So much so that she suggested that he may not be able to attend preschool much longer. This got me thinking along the lines of homeschooling. I have been reading some stuff here and there and have listened to several different podcasts on the subject. I am hoping to be able to get my ducks in a row to begin homeschooling when I am ready to do so or when the school system spits one of my kids out. I am not condemning the school system in my area. They do a great job. It is just that I grew up with the labels of Learning Disorder and Behavior Disorder and the stigma that goes along with it. I do not want that for my kids. I would rather they made the decision as to where their education comes from and at what pace they would like to achieve it. I am always up for anybodies help or suggestions and polite criticism. I guess I have rambled on enough for now. Looking forward to interacting with you guys. |

Hi!
When I take into account the attributes that I believe make up a great teacher "caring" is right at the top. I know I care more about my kids and their education than anyone else in the entire world. I think where there is a will there is a way! |
