hi everyone.......ok, we've changed from a free for all @ our house during the preschool year to a set schedule in the kindergarten year. i must say, it's sooooo much better sticking to a schedule for us. i think it's working out a lot better b/c last year (preschool), we took the laid back approach & didn't start school work until after lunch, & then it was complaining.."mama, i don't want to, i want to play"...etc. well, this year, it's much different. we have a SCHEDULE. here's a brief run down of our kindergarten schedule:
9 a.m. - bible devotions >> week one >> Joseph & his coat of many colors
9:30 - math/arithmetic
10 - literature (this is actually just story time)
10:30 - phonics (sing, spell, read & write)
11 - lunch
1 p.m. - handwriting
we're starting some easy spanish words & phrases (2xwk), 30 minute art lesson (1xwk), later on in the year: unit studies on dinosaurs & common backyard birds. _________________ Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things....
