Hi! My name is Caryn and I live in Aiken, SC. I have a dd age 7 who is in the second grade. This is our 4th year homeschooling, and we LOVE it!

Hi Caryn. I am Kristin and I live in Greer, SC. I am new to homeschooling, but glad to know there are likeminded people in the area. Do you have any information as far as community resources and support groups in our area?

Hi Kristin!

We use to live in Spartanburg, which I believe is just a hop, skip and a jump from you! We are about two and a half hours from Spartanburg now.

I still keep in touch with quite a few friends in the Spartanburg area and would be glad to see what I can find out about local groups closer to you! At the time we moved from Spartanburg dd was only 3, so we hadn't really gotten involved yet.

In Aiken we have a couple of homeschool groups, but we have not been a part of them for the past few years. This past year we participated in a co-op at our church, and it was good, but we are honestly really praying about whether to continue that this year. I would really like to do something more informal that involved more community service, etc. Also, dd is going into the 3rd grade, and from what I can tell our time requirements will increase by about 2 hours a day.

We belong to Grace Homeschool Association in Florence to keep us legal. We really like this group. If you are interested in more info, let me know!
