Getting started home schooling does take some time. You need to find out what the state laws are in Georgia (HSLDA web site is very helpful) for home schooling and then determine what curriculum you want to use.
If you are a first-time home schooler, you may what to use a more traditional curriculum until you are more familiar with how to home school. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Hope you do choose to school your child at home.
